Andrew Yule steps down as President.
CALGARY, AB—This week, Andrew Yule informed the Nose Creek Preservation Society Board of Directors that he is stepping down from the Board of Directors as President, to pursue a new form of advocacy: City Councillor for Ward 3.
“I’m leaving the Nose Creek Preservation Society in very capable hands. As this advocacy has evolved, I’ve seen more and more people step forward to Speak for Nose Creek. I’m excited to see where this next generation of Creek-Heads will take the Preservation Society.” - Andrew Yule
As a society, we are grateful for Andrew's hard work, countless hours, and tireless leadership as he built this advocacy from scratch. Andrew’s vision and passion for Nose Creek have been infectious, and our membership numbers have grown substantially because of his leadership.
It’s a new chapter for the Nose Creek Preservation Society as Lincoln Friske steps into the role of interim President until the AGM meets in September 2025. With new energy and strong community values, Friske intends to bring a collaborative vision to Calgary’s environmental advocacy society.
“I’m incredibly honoured to take on this role,” said Friske. “This organization has bloomed over the last three years. It has transformed from a local initiative into a powerful voice in the community. Under Andrew Yule’s leadership, we laid some heavy groundwork. Now we need to carry that momentum forward.”
Friske has been a voice in the Society since its inception, when he served as Vice President. With a professional background in cybersecurity and a passion for supporting grassroots movements, he approaches advocacy work strategically.
The Nose Creek Preservation Society continues as a community-led initiative advocating for Nose Creek’s Biodiversity, Watershed, History, and Community Green Space in the Nose Creek Valley. We are always looking for more voices to join us as we work towards creating an Inter-municipal Park System along Nose Creek from Calgary to Airdrie.
